Australian Toll Roads Guide

Toll roads can be found within the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. Toll points can generally be found within the metropolitan areas of the capital cities, but many of the toll roads can often extend outside the city limits.

Many toll roads in Australia have developed a "free flow" system in which many of the tolling booths have now become non-existent. This essentially means that you no longer have to stop to pay cash to enter and travel along a toll road.

Electronic passes are accepted at all toll roads in Australia and can be purchased from several participating outlets. Each state varies in the method of payment and the type of electronic pass required.

Queensland

Queensland toll points can be found on the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges, Gateway Extension, Logan Motorway, Clem7 Tunnel and the Go Between Bridge.

Paying cash at Queensland tolls is not an option and a "Go Via" tag, or visitor pass is required.

Visit www.govia.com.au to find out more.

New South Wales

New South Wales toll points can be found along the M2, M5, M7, Lane Cove Tunnel, Military Road E-Ramps, the Eastern Distributor, the Cross City Tunnel and the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel.

Generally an e-tag is required to travel through these tolling points. If you travel without a pass, your number plate will be recorded and you will be able to pay the fee at a later date.

Victoria

Victoria toll points can be found along Citylink and Eastlink.

Travellers have the option to purchase a Citylink pass before travel or within 3 days after travel. E-tags and E-passes are also acceptable.
